Motorola Photon 4G to hit Sprint July 31 for $200

Sprint on Wednesday locked down the date and price for the Photon 4G. Its first high-end Motorola Android phone will be on shelves July 31 and will cost $200 on contract. Premier subscribers will get the option of buying one three days earlier, on July 28.

The full-touch hardware is focused on a 4.3-inch, 540x960 display and combines both a dual-core Tegra 2 processor with WiMAX for speed both off and online. It carries an eight-megapixel back camera and a front VGA camera. Motorola has given it GSM roaming along with CDMA and loads up 16GB of internal storage on top of the microSDHC card slot.

Sprint's influences are focused on its ID custom theming. The Photon will have the option of pairing up with a custom-tailored (though not exclusive) HD Station dock for Webtop use, a Bluetooth keyboard, and a Vehicle Navigation Dock for GPS on the road. The trio costs $100, $70, and $60 respectively.
